The business consists of 3 shops at Brookvale, Mona Vale and Manly, with 16 mobile service vehicles and employs approximately 30 multi- skilled personnel.

COMPANY HISTORY

Barrenjoey Locksmiths, Alarms and security started functioning and providing locksmith services in 1973 from the  home of George Ramsay at Newport. He envisaged the need for a local locksmith shop in Pittwater that was customer convenient. In 1975 he opened a very small shop within the Pittwater Centre shopping complex at Mona Vale.

ln June 1978 Barrenjoey Locksmiths was skill tested by the Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia and admitted as a Business Member. The company is also a Corporate Member of Australian Security Industry Association Ltd. and Australian Business Limited.

Today the Head Office, Administration and Mobile Service Departrnents function from the Brookvale Shop premises.  The Mona Vate shop has progressively relocated to larger premises during the past 30 years. Hancock Locksmiths at  Manly became part of Barrenjoey Security Group Pty Ltd in 1996.

The company comprises of a close knit team of 30 multi-skilled personnel that specialise in the various facets of the now mandatory licensed, NSW Security Industry.

The company's community standing is endorsed by the more than 50 young local residents, who have been trained as apprentices by the business during the last 33 plus years of function on the Northern Beaches.

The company has continued to provide the general public and its clientele with a very responsive and efficient 24 hour emergency service since its establishment, from its fleet of 16 mobile workhop and service vans.

The many long-term clientele inctudes local businesses and a broad mix of tradespeople, clubs, schools, councils, State and Federal Government Departments that have various type and size traceable master key systems and or alarm or electronic access systems.

THE DIRECTORS

The current Directors of Barrenjoey Security Group Pty Ltd, George Rarmay and Jeanette Ramsay were instrurnental in the initial formation of the business as Barrenjoey Locksmiths and its ongoing development to its current position and size on the Northern Beaches.

Both George and Jeanette have now decided after 33 plus years of dedication to this business to have a sea change and intend to proceed with their intention to review the options with selling the business.
